Between Sassi and Murgia, nature to discover

Opposite the Sassi of Matera is the Murgia Materana Park, a wild plateau overlooking the ravine.

From the stone alleys you pass to the paths that lead to the rock churches, the natural viewpoints and the ancient shepherds' caves. The trekking routes, accessible even to the less experienced, offer spectacular views of the illuminated city and the valley. At dawn or dusk, the light enhances the colors of the rock and creates a unique atmosphere, suspended in time.
